Most recently, Richard was the Associate Movement Director on Headlong’s UK tour of The House Party by Laura Lomas, co-produced with Chichester Festival Theatre in association with Frantic Assembly.

ACTING



Richard trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, graduating with a first class honours degree.

Originally from Blackpool in Lancashire, Richard's theatre credits include The Secret Life of Bees (Almeida Theatre), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Opera de Rouen Normandie), The Book of Dust - La Belle Sauvage (Bridge Theatre), King Lear (LA, San Francisco and US Tour), Wings (Young Vic), The Taming of the Shrew, Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night's Dream (Shakespeare's Globe), Watership Down (The Watermill), Peter Pan (Regent's Park Open Air Theatre), Othello (Frantic Assembly - Original 2008 UK Tour and 2014/15 UK Tour), Emil and the Detectives (National Theatre), Cyrano de Bergerac (Royal Shakespeare Company), Romeo and Juliet (Pilot Theatre - UK Tour), Charlotte's Web (Birmingham Stage Company), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Tooting Arts Club), Pygmalion (Old Vic), The Tempest and A Midsummer Night's Dream (UK and International Tours), The Tempest (UK Tour), In Doggerland and Whispering Happiness (Box of Tricks), A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Comedy of Errors (Ludlow Castle), The Tale of the Stolen Heart (Improbable Fiction), The Threepenny Opera (Lyric, Hammersmith) and Murder in the Cathedral (Southwark Cathedral and Westminster Cathedral) both with the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain and was a professional performer in the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympic Games directed by Academy Award winning director Danny Boyle.

Film and television credits include The Batman and The Legend Of Tarzan (Warner Bros.), 3 Body Problem (Netflix), Thanks For The Memories (Gate TV / ZDF), Call The Midwife ​and Atlantis (BBC), The Insiders (Twenty Twenty / Channel 4), Choke: Frantic Othello (Canvas Arts / Frantic Assembly), Dragon (Gulliver Moore Films), Co-Op (Beeches Productions), When I'm Gone (Ladysmith Productions), Nadya's Circus (Saloon Films), The Situation (Lame Dog Productions), live action sequences for the video game LittleBigPlanet (PlayStation Vita / Maverick Media) and has worked as a voiceover artist for BBC Active.

Whilst at Mountview, he was nominated for the 2006 Spotlight Prize and was a commended finalist in the 2006 BBC Carlton Hobbs Radio Competition.

Alongside his professional work, Richard plays for the Arsenal Charity Football Team. Made up of ex-pros and celebrities, the team plays exhibition matches all over the UK, raising money for numerous charitable causes.

Alongside his work as a director and movement director, Richard is a practitioner for Frantic Assembly.

Romeo and Juliet and Jekyll and Hyde (Box Clever), The Gunpowder Plot Immersive Experience (Layered Reality / Tower of London), Tragedy: A Tragedy (Hamilton College, New York), Common Lore (Stute Theatre & Northern Broadsides) and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (The Faction).
